Hooked on Crochet ~ my first garment

In September last year i set out on the adventure to make a crocheted garment. My  daughter chose the pattern which came with Crafts Beautiful Magazine quite a while ago.

Here's a close up of the stitch detail.

When I started it went really well but after a while it became a bit of a chore all this black needless to say this is why its taken me so long to finish! 

Anyway with one done I now need to get on with the next one. the pattern's a little easier and grey isn't quite as hard on the eyes!
