Ellis' Birthday Cake!

It seem's to have been a while since I did some baking but with Ellis' 17th Birthday earlier this week I'd be ashamed of my-self if I bought one and I think she may have been a little disappointed!

It's two layers of lemon sponge filled with Vanilla butter cream and Lemon Curd, covered with Lemon butter cream and more Vanilla butter cream to ice the flower's, topped off with white sugar pearls!

I've got some really cool sweet treats lined up for Halloween this year so if you enjoy baking too look out for those!

Autumn Leaves.

Autumn is really here now and looking as gorgeous as ever, I love these crisp morning's and afternoon sun. We have been very lucky in Norfolk to have missed the awful weather that I know so many people are having to deal with at the moment.

On today's card I have made some fabulous leaf embellishments using Stamp 'n' Bond
embossing powder and foil. Its a simple but effective technique.
I coated a 10cm square piece of dark green card in Versa Mark ink and then covered with Stamp 'n' Bond, heated and then I took pieces of crumpled up foil and pressed onto the embossing powder. You may need to reheat between colours as it can loose its tackiness sometimes. Once dried completely I punched out several leaves and arranged them around the image to make a frame.
